During 2008, Crookrise dogs were behind many CC winning dogs in the showring and continued to give a good account of themselves in the field. Crookrise lines have been behind many CC-winning dogs in the show-ring this year and Crookrise dogs continue to give a good account of themselves in the field.

  • Sh Ch Crookrise Macawley at Galema, (sire Sh Ch & Ir Sh Ch Crookrise Rhum, dam Calderside Nigael at Wherathy) bred by Helga Edmondson and owned by Gail Simmons, won his third CC at Birmingham National Ch Sh and won two more C C s at South Wales Kennel Association and LKA Championship Shows.
  • Crookrise Arran at Luneville, (sire Ch Crookrise Hi-Jack, dam Sh Ch Lynwater Frosty Welcome of Crookrise) owned by Nigel and Michele Macmanus, won the bitch RCC at Crufts.
  • Ch Crookrise White Lace won the bitch CC at Blackpool Ch Sh and at Leeds Ch Sh and the RCC at Three Counties Ch Sh.
  • The young black and white dog, Crookrise Floyd (Wherathy Walter at Calderside x Lynwater Hurdler of Blackcraig) won well as a puppy and in junior dog classes. He also sired his first litter with Calderside Scarlett O’Hara.
  • Dogs sired by Sh Ch & Ir Sh Ch Crookrise Rhum and Crookrise Rory also won CCs.
  • Crookrise dogs also did well in Ireland, winning Green Stars and CACIBs.
  • Crookrise Fly Me to the Moon (sire Vossmead Jester of Crookrise, dam Crookrise Arran at Luneville) owned by Ferdinand and Evely Xuereb, is now a Champion in Malta.
  • Crookrise won KC Breeders Gundog comp at Border Union CS


2009 was another successful year for Crookrise in the showring.  At Bath, Crookrise Floyd won the DCC and BOB and Ch Crookrise White Lace won the BCC.


In 2010, the Crookrise team was third out of 56 entries in the KC Breeders Competition Final at Crufts.


In 2011, Sh Ch Crookrise Rhum won first prize in the veteran dog class at Crufts.  Two litters were born – the first sired by Crookrise Rhum ex Crookrise Rushlight and the second sired by Crookrise Rory ex New Moon Do Vale Caveiro at Crookrise. Crookrise Rory and Lynwater Hurdler of Blackcraig (grandmother to Crookrise Rushlight’s puppies) won their Show Working Gundog Certificates at the Kennel Club’s training weekend on grouse at Reeth, North Yorkshire.
