Ch Crookrise Old Glory

Her CC winning sons and daughters were Ch Crookrise Old Glory and World Ch Crookrise Speckled Gown. CC winning grandsons and granddaughters have included Ch Calderside Love in a Mist at Wherathy, Crookrise Salver of Wyndsmoor, Galema Commanche, Jesterley Northern Belle, Pipeaway Culture Vulture, World Ch/Sh Cha Vossmead Adam of Crookrise, Sh Ch Vossmead Gambler of Crookrise and Sh Ch Whipsan Blaze of Glory.

In 1989, yet another outcross was carried out. Stuart Mullan mated his bitch Crookrise High Class, a daughter of Traigmhor Media Maid and Field Champion Crookrise Rhythm to Field Trial Ch Innistona Shoot, bred by David Reid.

Limrath Pride of Ard Dorragh was purchased from this litter and her natural working ability and intelligence passes on to this day. She had a number of field trial awards.

In 1997, her daughter, Crookrise Oona sired by Crookrise Old Glory, was bred back to Innistona Tan, a son of Ft Ch Innistona Shoot. From this litter cam field trial winner, Crookrise Sally and Crookrise Gill.

In 1997, Sh Ch Crookrise Vossmead Gambler of Crookrise was Top Sire (Our Dogs). He now features in very many pedigrees of present day
C C winners.

In 1998, the first ever litter of pointer in the UK were sired by imported frozen semen from USA Ch Bookstor Robert Frost, owned by Dr and Mrs Spey.

The bitch chosen to breed the litter from was Mrs Elizabeth Maclean’s Sarah Pocket of Crookrise. Two puppies were retained from this litter, Sh Ch Lynwater Frosty Welcome of Crookrise and Lynwater Atlantic Crossing of Crookrise.

Yet another outcross was done. This time, Crookrise Fireflicker was mated to field trial winner, Stour Pepper, who again, was line bred to Blackfield Gem, so tying up the Blackfield bloodline again.

During 1980, Sh Ch Crookrise Rio was top winning pointer, shown by Mrs Fran Barr, who at this time, went in joint ownership with him. He won the dog CC at Crufts, Gundog Group at Birmingham National and Best in Show all breed Border Union Ch Show.

Australian and New Zealand Champion Crookrise Firebrand was top dog all breeds in New Zealand and USA Champion Crookrise Rossenarra Amontiago was best in show at the American Pointer Club Championship Show.

Crookrise Flint was Stud Dog of the Year and Fr Ch Crookrise Rhythm won the Open Stake of the Pointer Club to gain his field trial title.

USA Ch Crookrise Rossenarra Amontiago was Best in Show at the American Pointer Club Championship Show.

Traigmhor Media Maid was born in 1984, bred by Jon and Janette Kean from their Sh Ch Crookrise Festival, a daughter and grand daughter of Flint. The sire of Media Maid was Ft Ch Isle of Arran Larch who again went back to field trial lines of Blackfield and also brought in Ellebaeks Nicki again. Media Maid went on to become another of Crookrise’s influential bitches. In her first litter to Ft Ch Crookrise Rhythm, she produced USA and Can Ch Crookrise High Flyter who features in so many winning pointer pedigrees in the USA.

Her second litter was to New Zealand and Aust Ch Crookrise Sirius. Crookrise Sprightly, Salient and Salute all having an influence on pointers world wide.
